When In Baguio: Tsokolateria

As I have mentioned in my previous post, I took Tim to one of Baguio's infamous hot cocoa places: Tsokolateria, located in Igorot Stairs, Upper Session Road, it's nestled beneath the Barrio Fiesta restaurant. They also have a branch in Tagaytay, which is nearer to Metro Manila but I heard just as good and with a better view. LOL

So Tim and I ordered their Tsokolate-Ah, which was the sweeter kind of hot cocoa and it only costs 190php. The bittersweet kind is called Tsokolate-Eh, which I prefer more than the sweeter kind but Tim is not so adventurous when it comes to chocolate. I even suggested that we try the Sili Labuyo Cocoa Blend which costs 180php only but he refused and opted to check out the standard hot cocoa blend.

They serve it with two cups in a wooden board tray that looks an awful lot like our chopping board back at home LOL and you can ask them to reheat the cocoa if it gets too cold.

Their pitcher of hot cocoa is good for four persons, Tim and I weren't able to finish ours because it was so thick and quite heavy. It was also decadent and really filling, it makes you want to curl up with a blanket and stare out the window as you listen to the restaurant's Carpenters playlist.

We also ordered some snacks off their menu, which was a slightly bad idea, either that or we just keep on making bad choices when it comes to food these days. LOL Tim ordered their Ube Macapuno Souffle and I tried their waffle topped with chocolate, banana, almond shavings and sprinkled with Choc-nut. We even ordered an extra serving of ice cream to put on top of our snacks.

And although everything tasted good, it didn't all match haha! Everything was so sweet but it was our fault, we should have ordered something that would be in contrast with the Tsokolate-Ah.

All in all, we paid a total of 700+php for the two of us, which can be pricey but then again it was served quickly by their polite and accommodating wait staff and the serving size and taste was 8/10 by our standard so it was all worth it.

Kayo ba, mahilig din ba kayo sa matatamis?

  14. Hello, Cris! Usually sa palengke ng Baguio nagtitinda sila ng cocoa talaga. Yun proven the best at mas mura kaso hehe alam mo na sariling sikap. May mg alternative din naman sa mga supermarket na kasing sarap, dipende nalang din sa tamis ng timpla mo. Pero hinay hinay lang ha, kelangan lagi tayong aware sa blood sugar count natin.
